2023: SouthWest youths urged to shun monetary sentiments

Mobilise Support For Yahaya Bello’s Ambition
SouthWest youths have been urged to shun political, religious and monetary sentiments ahead of the 2023 polls.

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Government, Abdulkareem Jamiu, who gave the advice yesterday, during the unveiling of ‘Rescue Nigeria Mission (RenMiss)’ in Lagos, attended by hundreds of youths across the region, said the older generations are using the sentiments to divide the youths for selfish reasons.

He said: “The youths have allowed themselves to be divided for so long. The older generations are using distraction to divide the youths. It is time to desist from religion, monetary and political sentiments. What is needed to be a good leader is in the strength of one’s character.

“Being a member of a political party does not change one’s character. We have to unite and look out for the best. Someone that is agile and intelligent. Let’s go for the best. Let’s shun the practice of collecting money before voting for a candidate. If we shun these vices and elect only the best, we will place the country on the path of progress.”

Participants at the programme who insisted that it was Yahaya Bello or no other person for President in 2023, vowed to rewrite the country’s political history.

The youths said it is time to stop recycling old and tired politicians, saying they are ready to also disgrace moneybags and their money.

The coordinator of the youths in the South West, Shola Saheed, said, “We are excited today that all our youths are keying in. As we speak today, over 20 million youths (PVC holders), are already actively involved in the struggle to elect our own Governor Yahaya Bello, as President.

“We are set to rewrite the political history of Nigeria. We will not listen to Baba sope, we will collect their billions if they bring it, but we assure you, we will vote Yahaya Bello with our numbers. Don’t ask me how we will do it. Just watch and see how we would rescue this nation resolutely and peacefully.”
