APC group calls for arrest of sponsors of protests in Zamfara

Former Zamfara State governor Bello Matawalle

The APC Youth Wing Mobilisation Vanguard has called for the immediate arrest of the financiers behind the sponsored protests targeting political figures in Zamfara State.

The group accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)-led government of Zamfara State and a member of the House of Representatives in the state of financing protests.

Chairman of the group, Ashiru Tukur, in a statement said the protest is an orchestrated propaganda aimed at tarnishing the reputations of leaders like Minister of State Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, and former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari.

The group praised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for addressing the sponsored protests and urged them to take swift action against those misusing public funds. According to their investigation, individuals behind these protests are neglecting their constituents while fueling personal agendas.

“We demand the arrest of financiers responsible for orchestrating these protests,” stated Tukur. “Their actions are a gross misuse of public funds and a disservice to the people of Zamfara.”

The APC Youth Wing Mobilisation Vanguard stressed that accusations against Matawalle and Yari lack substance and fail to acknowledge their significant contributions. They emphasized that both leaders have passed thorough screening by relevant security agencies.

Furthermore, the group condemned the involvement of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)-led government of Zamfara State and a member of the House of Representatives from Zamfara in financing such protests, describing it as demeaning to the people of Zamfara.

“We urge the EFCC to swiftly apprehend the masterminds behind these protests and ensure justice is served,” Alhaji Ashiru Tukur expressed. “Zamfara deserves leaders who prioritize its development and security.”

The statement concludes with a call for unity among rational minds to work towards the progress and stability of Zamfara state and Nigeria as a whole.
