It seems there is a surge in teen drama movies in Nigeria. In the past, there were only few successful high school dramas such as MTV’s Shuga but popular high school drama, Best Friends In The World, produced by Neptune3 Studios, seems to be the web series that gave sudden rise and demand for teen movies in Nigeria.
Class of Secrets is one of the recent successful teen drama web series in Nigeria. The first season premiered on YouTube in August 2023 and the crime drama web series is back with Season 2 with the last episode airing on 28th April 2024.
When the first season aired on Imagination TV’s YouTube channel in 2023, it quickly became a fan favourite and caught the attention of over 360,000 viewers.
After the successful outing, the producer and director, Benneth Nwankwo announced in November 2023 that a new season was under production and writers Vivian Chidera Obi and Ebuka Uzoechi were announced as new Screenwriters for the show.
Production began in December 2023 in Awka, Anambra state with additional new casts, Ismail Muhammed, Teniola Yusuf, Dove Precious Ofozoba, Janefrancess Chloe and Jessica Ndigwe.
The first episode of the second season was aired on February 24th 2024.
Class of Secrets Season 2 follows the journey of a young female student who returns to Folkestone High School to uncover the truth behind her brother’s arrest as she suspects a conspiracy. While at it, an anonymous figure plays mind games with the students.
