FIFA-licensed agent, Drew Uyi, has applauded FIFA Council member, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, over his quality representation of Nigeria and Africa in the highest decision-making organ of the world football governing body.

Uyi got his license as an agent from FIFA in 2023, years after working as an FA-licensed agent. He was at the FIFA Best Awards in London on January 15, 2024, on the invitation of Pinnick, the immediate former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Uyi was on the green carpet with Pinnick and accessed the VIP section of the event, during which he met with the bigwigs in international football and witnessed how Lionel Messi scooped the award for the eighth time in a career laden with individual recognitions.

The esteemed football agent was delighted with the experience, hanging out with Pinnick, who is the chairman of BrownHill Group and CAF Executive Committee Member, on the green carpet and at the party after the ceremony.

Speaking on Pinnick, Uyi hailed the influence of the top football administrator and for representing Nigeria and Africa well. He praised the FIFA Council member’s organisational skills, which he demonstrates in CAF. He highlighted the roles he played behind the scene in FIFA events, including the FIFA Best Awards, and tips him for a much higher role in world football.

“Amaju Pinnick is very influential in the FIFA setting. He is very influential, you could see that he is really representing Africa well, representing Nigeria well there with his aura, the way he moves around there, the way he talks to people, gives them confidence, he is part of the set up you know,” he said.

“His organization skills; I saw his organization skills during the event and after the event, the transport back to the hotel and the after party, you could see that he is very influential on putting people on check and people when they see him, they want to work. I think he is a team player. I must give kudos to Amaju Pinnick. He does a lot of work behind the scene that people do not see. So, I think he is a good representative for Africa, and I will not be surprised if he goes higher in the future.”

Pinnick secured a seat on the FIFA Council on March 12, 2021.
