Evolufy Africa set to train 1000 children and teenagers with relevant tech skills by 2030

With the core role that tech skills play in today’s world, young people, especially those from low-income communities need to be well-equipped to prepare early for their future and be empowered to rise above the limitations in their environment.

At Evolufy Africa, we strongly advocate for the integration of the younger generation into the global development landscape, with a special focus on Africa’s technological progress. As a non-profit organization, our mission is centered on enhancing the welfare and advancement of children, teenagers and young adults. Through our educational initiatives, training programs, and various interventions, we aim to elevate the quality of their life and equip them with necessary skills for success. We believe that by nurturing the potential of Africa’s youth, we envision a future where the continent thrives both economically and socially on the world stage.

Technology has posed to be the driver of the future and has birthed innovations that has made our world a better place. This is the motivation behind the Operation T3 initiative by Evolufy Africa. As part of enhancing the advancement of children and teenagers, Operation T3- Target, Think and Talent is being held with an intention to provide technology training tailored for children and teenagers aged 8-19. Our aim is to narrow the knowledge gap in digital skills among them, ensuring their inclusion in today’s rapidly evolving digital world. By empowering them with these skills, we believe they can contribute meaningfully to societal development and drive innovation.

We firmly believe that equipping these young individuals with sought-after technological skills early on enhances their prospects for a brighter future. Our ultimate goal is to nurture the next generation of innovators. By 2030, we aspire to have equipped at least 1000 children and teenagers with these essential skills.

Our dedication to this cause stems from the fervent desire to witness the younger generation laying the foundation for a lasting legacy at an early age, empowering them to pursue their aspirations and dreams with confidence said Monica Samuel, the Team Lead for OperationT3.

OperationT3’s mission aligns seamlessly with Evolufy Africa’s vision of positioning Africa at the forefront of innovation. By nurturing and equipping young minds through this initiative, we aim to propel Africa into a leading role in the global landscape of innovation.

Since its inception in 2022, the project has been making strides towards fulfilling its mission. The inaugural edition of OperationT3 saw us engaging with 65 children and tenagers in the city of Ile-Ife, Osun state. In collaboration with Apex Olive College, we provided training on Microsoft Office usage, content creation, Canva design and Web development, setting the foundation for their technological journey.

In October 2023, the program was conducted at the SAIL Innovation Lab in Ikorodu, Lagos. During this event, we facilitated participant’s learning across four learning tracks: UI/UX Design, Scratch Programming, Web Development, and Digital Marketing(Content Creation).

Our esteemed partner, SAIL Innovation Lab (@sailnigeria) , played a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of the training program by providing essential equipment and resources. Their invaluable contribution not only facilitated the success of OperationT3 but also harmonized perfectly with their primary mission as an innovation hub, which is catalyzing the journey of youth advancement in technology.

We look forward to doing much more this year as we set out to train 100 teenagers.

We will be needing all the support we can get from human resources to financial support and more. To volunteer, partner with us for this year’s cohort or sponsor a child. Please send a message to us via Instagram @evolufyafrica and we will be in touch.
