The theme, according to the founder of the organisation, Mrs. Toyin Taiwo, is “Let’s Talk About Fibroid: Cause, Myth and Treatment.”
Taiwo noted that nearly 80 per cent of women would develop one or more uterine fibroids during their reproductive lifespan.
She said there is also a significant population of women that is undiagnosed and potentially coping with the symptoms alone.
Taiwo said the initiative, which begins at 11:00 a.m., would enable heartfelt and sincere human conversations and interactions. It will also drive awareness and help women find support in the experiences of others.
