From Bethel Ministries, CCIC, Global Vision support Int’l Foundation, medical outreach for community

Bethel Ministries Incorporation, Bethel Wonder City, Ilaje Ajah, Lagos, in conjunction with the Chosen Champions International Conference (CCIC) and the Global Vision Support International Foundation organised a three-day medical outreach for the people in their host community.

The event, which ended last Sunday had many people suffering different health challenges receive free treatment, while some had their eyes tested, blood sugar level screening and also got free eyeglasses, consultations and free drugs.

Rev. Roselyn Oduyemi, who spoke with The Guardian on the event disclosed that the outreach aimed at raising people who will disciple nations, reconcile people to God through Christ and to influence the world for God as Christ Ambassadors.

Speaking under anonymity, one of the medical doctors who attended to the people called on Nigerians to go to hospitals for regular medical checkups and not wait to fall ill before seeing a doctor. She attributed many health challenges to ignorance on the part of the patients, saying that many people with high blood pressure she came across do not that they have such challenge. She identified stress as a major cause of cardiovascular/heart conditions of most Nigerians.

A member of the church, who gave her name as Happiness disclosed that the church had organised a series of empowerment programmes and seminars for the young people in the community and members of the church in the past.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Linus Bassey, a 70-year-old man thanked the church for the privilege given to him and others to know their health conditions for free.

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Rita Jacobs, who came with her three children, said: “My family and l have benefitted so much for the medical outreach organised by the church over the years and we are equally enjoying same thing today.”
