HBO’s ‘Succession’ Leads 2023 Emmy Nominations


The full list of nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Wednesday morning, with HBO’s “Succession” leading the pack with 27 nods. The critically acclaimed drama series is up for Outstanding Drama Series, as well as Outstanding Lead Actor (Brian Cox), Outstanding Supporting Actor (Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfadyen), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Sarah Snook), and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.


Following closely behind “Succession” is HBO’s “The Last of Us,” which received 24 nominations. The adaptation of the popular video game is up for Outstanding Limited Series, as well as Outstanding Lead Actor (Pedro Pascal), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Bella Ramsey), and Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special.

Other shows that received multiple nominations include “The White Lotus” (23), “Ted Lasso” (21), “Abbott Elementary” (17), and “Better Call Saul” (16). The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 18, 2023, and will be broadcast on Fox.
