Igbinedion urges FG to create enabling environment for small scale businesses to grow

Fetes plaza employees, rewards staff with prizes
A former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion has tasked the federal government to create an enabling environment for Small scale businesses to thrive in the country as a way to empower the youth population and tackle unemployment.

Igbinedion spoke in Benin City while presenting award of excellence and prizes to over 51 employees of Kada Plaza and Cinema Entertainment Centre for their exceptional hardwork, dedication and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

Igbinedion who called for government to support the growth of small businesses to drive the economy said government support for small business owners would help reduce unemployment.

He said staff members of the Kada Plaza and Cinema Entertainment Centre were rewarded to boost their morale to do more in the year 2024.

Employees who have spent between five to 10 years in the organization received from the former governor various prizes ranging from Refrigerators, Television Sets, Air-conditioners, Washing Machines, and Cash sum.


The former governor appreciated the management and staff led by its Managing Director, Trevor Pillay, for their support and dedication over the past years, and pledged to continually give his unwavering support to improve service delivery.

He said the members of staff numbering over 51 rewarded for excellence were drawn from various departments, namely, Security, Housekeeping, Stores, Maintenance among others.

Other management staff who recieved prizes and Award of Excellence were the Chief Accountant, Chief Electrician, Facility Manager and the Chairman Award for Best Staff of the Year went to a logistics staff, Mr. Paul Ojo, who received a cash sum of N200,000 as reward for his meritorious service.
