Armed robbers

A journalists with Shimo FM, in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, Mohammed Usamat Suleman, has recounted how he was dehumanised by hoodlums who attacked him on Wednesday night.

Speaking with The Guardian, yesterday, at his hospital bed in Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, he said his attackers came calling shortly after, he left the FM station at about 8:00p.m. on Wednesday to his home.

Suleman, said: “Before I realised it, I discovered that that all the passengers in the tricycle were hoodlums, but it was too late for me to disembark.

“Immediately they began to harass and intimidate me with their weapons, asking me to make available to them a particular midget.”

The attack, which he said took place along Labour House road, left him with injuries.

“They only asked for a particular midget, which I had no knowledge about and I wondered why they were so concerned about the midget in question.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Usman, denied knowledge of the attack, but promised to reach out to relevant Divisional Police officers (DPOs) in the metropolis.
