Pop star, Justin Timberlake, has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Long Island, New York.
According to police reports, Timberlake got pulled over for running past a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane while driving.
The cops observed that Justin was “glassy-eyed” and they could perceive alcohol from his breath.
He was also alleged to have failed the sobriety test and could not stand on one leg or walk and turn when he was asked to do so.
He was also alleged to have refused to take a breathalyser test.
A breathalyser is a machine used by the police to measure the amount of alcohol in a driver’s breath.
Timberlake, according to TMZ, was out partying at the America Hotel, immediately going back to driving after he left the party. The police caught him running a stop sign and started following him upon which he was caught swerving before he was pulled over.
Also, some of Justin’s friends came to convince the police to let him go but they refused. Timberlake was later handcuffed and taken into police custody.
As of today, He has been arraigned and released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, June 25th, to face DUI charges.
If convicted, Timberlake could face a range of penalties, including fines, jail time, and the loss of his driver’s license.
