Kano rerun: NNPP condemns attack on innocent voters

The Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has condemned the brutal attack on innocent voters in Kunchi/Tsanyawa State Assembly constituency.

State chairman of the party, Dr. Hashim Suleiman Dungurawa, in a statement, alleged that the sporadic attacks on voters were aimed at disenfranchising them from exercising their civic rights.

He said: “Since Friday night, we sighted the deployment of thousands of thugs hired by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to disrupt the election process.”

The NNPP chairman however commended the efforts of security forces for protecting the lives of people in the affected areas.

Meanwhile, in its reaction, the Secretary, Kano State chapter of the APC, Zakari Sarina, said no election took place in the state while accusing the NNPP of taking over the entire process from INEC as well as serving as party agents to APC and PDP.

“The NNPP took over the entire process from INEC having taken over the election process by serving as party agents of APC and PDP. They also took over election materials and even wrote the results,” Sarina alleged.
