Let’s give Tinubu time to transform Nigeria, says Aguda

Aguda

A former gubernatorial aspirant in Kogi State, Oluwole Aguda, yesterday, appealed to Nigerians against being in a hurry to draw a blanket conclusion on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration one year after assuming office.

Aguda, an Information Technology and Communication (ITC) expert, speaking on Tinubu’s one year in office, said that though Nigerians have the right to express their pains and displeasures over the economic hardships created by some policies of the administration, it is inappropriate to draw the conclusion that the government is a total failure.

“I am uncertain that a consensus can be achieved with regard to a flat appraisal of Tinubu’s administration. What I think we can speak to or review must be structurally contextualised. Are we, for instance, seeking to assess the administration based on national security and the sense of safety the average Nigerian feels while within Nigeria? Or are we reviewing the leap in the quantum of resources being distributed nationally by the three arms of government?

“Should we shift focus to soft national concerns such as the average disposition to corruption by government officials or citizens?

I’d be more inclined to a sectorial review of the performance of the Tinubu administration than a blanket one.”
Aguda who is the Managing Director, Drupp Harmony Limited, also said, while the economic hardships are obvious, it demands urgent attention.
Aguda further noted there is still hunger in the land with inflation at very high proportions, making it increasingly difficult for the average Nigerian to feed.

He also assured those looking up to Tinubu for the restructuring of Nigeria’s governing system to be rest assured that the government is working out something meaningful in the area.
