At the induction ceremony and presentation of NIM’s professional membership certificate to graduating students of Senior Course 45 held recently, the officers acquired skills in managerial and leadership competencies that would be useful in their military assignments.
NIM President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Christiana Atako, while congratulating the newly inducted officers on the feat, said they must be guided by the institute’s code of conduct at all times as certified professional managers.
She urged them to continue to render selfless service to the Armed Forces and the nation, live above board and continue to contribute to the strategic transformation of the country.
“I, therefore, challenge you to not only read it, but to also commit it to practice and make it a way of life. I see all of you as agents of the change process that is urgently required to take Nigeria to a higher level and bring respect and honour to its people.
“As a professional manager, you are expected to show commitment to upholding the standards enshrined in the code. This will bestow credit not only on you and the Armed Forces but also on the management profession and the institute
“The institute is also not unmindful of the concerted effort being made by the Commandant and the college’s military hierarchy to ensure that the officers, who pass through this college turn out to be the best in both military and professional management practice, hence the decision to embrace and integrate this programme into the academic calendar of the college.
Commandant of the College, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Alhaji, who was represented by the Acting Deputy Commandant and Director of Joint Studies, Brigadier General Adebayo Fadaiyro, commended the institute, stating that the programme has continued to impact the beneficiaries, the Armed Forces and the nation.
