Pab Leo’s ‘Sere’ is an impressive rendition

‘Sere’ is a Yoruba word that means to play. In this context, the singer calls on the girl not to tell you his feelings. With a poignant backup singer and an impressive percussion to match, Pab Leo, the singer brings to fore his skill as a singer.

His new single has been on my playlist since the beginning of the week. It is a mix of different sounds with Afrobeats and R&B remaining the most prominent sound.

In the opening six lines of the song, the singer calls on his persona while using some flowery words. They are in Yoruba, this doesn’t diminish the grand statement it elicits.

Pab Leo has always cited Davido, King Sunny Ade, Olamide and others as some of his music idols, no wonder he is so meticulous with his delivery.

As a single, ‘Sere’, became one of the finest additions to Amapiano in the first quarter of 2024. One alluring attribute of this track is the mid tempo range of the production, it a big dash away from the high tempo sound that Amapiano is known for.

Pab Leo has kept his mouth sealed on what he has for his fans before the end of the year, however, a close industry source says that ‘Sere’ might just be serving as the lead single to a yet to be named extended play.
