Police arrest 15 suspected drugs baron in Delta

Operatives of Raider’s Squad and Raider Volunteer Corps of Delta State Police Command have arrested 15 suspects at several black spots in Sapele town for allegedly being in possession of hard drugs.

Spokesperson for the command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest in Asaba, yesterday, said the suspects were arrested on Monday, March 7, at Animeli road by Panama junction and Kelvin road both in Sapele Local Council of the state.


Edafe said 15 grammes of substances, suspected to be cocaine, one compressed sack of substance, suspected to be Indian hemp, seven packets of tramadol, 12 syringes, four CSP codeine syrup bottles, two crushers, some items suspected to be charming, one cooler soaked with suspected Indian hemp popularly known as ‘monkey tail’, one grinder and 20 packets of rizlas were recovered from them.

He also disclosed that the Police detectives had on March 2, 2022, arrested 34- year-old Precious Oki on the allegation that he stole eight out of 15 Zinox computers supplied to Nana Primary School, Warri by Delta State Government.


According to Edafe, the principal suspect was arrested following a complaint by a staff of the school to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) ‘A’ Division Warri over the stolen items.

He explained that police detectives swung into action and after painstaking investigation, arrested the principal suspect named Oki Precious, who was later discovered to be the computer operator working in the school and employed by the school’s Parent Teachers Association (PTA).

The suspect, he said, thereafter led the police to his house, where seven missing computers were recovered.
