Four suspects nabbed for robbing electronic shop in Nasarawa

The police in Ondo State have disclosed that an investigation has begun into the circumstances surrounding the death of a middle-aged man, Seidu Jamiu.

The death of the deceased, which occurred at the weekend, sparked controversy with some residents of Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Council of the state where Jamiu died, claiming that he was killed by his wife, Omolara Oluwakemi.

Others alleged he was killed by an unknown person.

However, police spokesperson in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the deceased’s wife was the one who reported at the police station that some people killed her husband at midnight on Saturday.

She also said no arrest had been made at press time.


MEANWHILE, four criminal suspects have been arrested for burgling an electronic store in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Spokesperson for the command, DSP Ramhan Namsel, in a statement yesterday, said a complaint was lodged at A Division Lafia, that an electronic store situated at Rimi Uku, was burgled, and items carted away.

He said: “Upon receipt of the complaint, an investigation was immediately launched leading to the arrest of the criminals and the items were recovered.

“The four suspects arrested in connection with the crime, namely: Sa’ad Kashina, 24, Bawa Saidu, 30, Sagir Mohammed, 28, and Isiaka Mohammed, 20, are all males from Doma Local Council and Lafia respectively.

“Four items: Kapital solar batteries and two 32-inch LG television sets were recovered as exhibits.”

Namsel said the suspects had confessed to selling four laptops, which were part of the stolen items, to a man in Makurdi, Benue State for N32,000.
