Rivers crisis: Youths commend Fubara, Wike for taking peaceful disposition

Some youths under the umbrella of Kalabari True Patriots have commended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for their peaceful posture toward the political crisis in the state regardless of their political differences.

The socio-political group lauded the governor for continuing the projects initiated by Wike despite their differences, saying the move has shown his commitment to ensuring uninterrupted development in the state.

Speaking during a press conference in Port Harcourt, yesterday, the group’s chairman, Alamboye Duke called on all aggrieved youths in the state following the political impasse between Fubara and Wike to sheathe their swords and support both leaders with ideas that would move the state forward and not create panic.

Duke also called on the state governor to operate an inclusive government that would not discriminate against anyone irrespective of age or social status.

He said: “The governor’s dedication to continuing unfinished projects from previous administrations reflects a commitment to building on the foundations laid by his predecessors, ensuring that the state’s development remains uninterrupted.

“For all supporters, let’s sheathe our sword and not create panic, but rather support Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara with ideas that will move Rivers State forward.”

The youths emphasised that they aim to engender peace and inclusivity for the betterment of the state and its residents, charging Fubara to sustain his developmental tempo by intensifying efforts geared towards ensuring a state where socio-economic activities would thrive.

“The Kalabari True Patriots, a socio-political group, was founded in 2017 by a group of 10 persons each from Asalga, Delga and Akulga councils of Rivers State with the sole aim of promoting peace and progress in the state.”
