Rotary Club of Abuja imperial inducts Martins Awofadeju as 10th President

The Rotary Club of Abuja Imperial Rotary International District 9127 has inducted Martins Awofadeju President for 2024/25 Rotary Year. Awofadeju will take over from outgoing President Emmanuella Odunze effective July 1, 2024.

Expressing appreciation to members for reposing their confidence in him, the new president promised to exhibit the leadership style that every member would be proud of.

He commended the outgoing President for her leadership and contributions to support humanity, adding that he is determined to carry on with the legacy of excellence embarked upon by his predecessor.

Awofadeju assured members that he would continue to uphold Rotary’s values and ideals by channelling his energy into implementing actions that would impact society.

He also pledged transparency and accountability in all financial transactions involving club operations.

According to him, part of his administration’s plan is to focus on critical areas such as community service, membership growth, youth engagement, collaborations, and eco-friendly projects.

“As your newly inducted president, I intend to live a legacy that would outlast my time in office. During my tenure, we will focus on community projects that address local needs, membership recruitment drive, programs that incorporate and inspire youth, strengthening international collaborations,” he said.

In line with the humanitarian efforts that Rotary is known for, I promise to take up the maternal and child health outreach project in Karonmajigi, Abuja, to save the lives of mothers and children living within the area.

Also, environmental sustainability is key to our agenda. We will embark on tree-planting activities around the Abuja environment. We will also continue to develop the leadership skills of our young people by sustaining the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA),” he added.

Awofadeju graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Estate Management.

He holds a Master of Science from Istanbul Aydin University (Turkey) and a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom.

He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Cyber Forensics at the University of Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America. He is also an alumnus of the AFS Youth Assembly.

Professionally, Awofadeju has served as a real estate officer at Tony Chegwe & Co (Nigeria), Sales and marketing manager at Adetunji Salami & Co (Nigeria), and Construction site manager at Megascope Meridian Limited (United Kingdom)
