Sanwo-Olu pledges synergy with armed forces on security, lauds CDS leadership style

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, said his administration would collaborate and support the Nigerian Armed Forces to ensure safety of life and property for continuous economic growth in the state.

Sanwo-Olu made the commitment when the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, led a delegation to pay him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House, Marina.

The governor, who described Lagos as the safest state in the country, commended the professionalism and leadership style of the CDS in tackling insecurity in the country.

Sanwo-Olu, who canvassed more slots for Lagos State indigenes in the ongoing Army recruitment exercise, urged the youths to take advantage of the opportunity and apply to serve their fatherland, with a promise to continually support the Army for more effective operations.

Earlier, the CDS, who appreciated the warm reception the governor gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan Markle, during their visit to Nigeria for the first time, solicited the support of the state government towards construction of the Invictus Games Centre to cater for the mental health of army officers, noting that over 1,000 officers are currently injured and in various hospitals across the country.He also urged Nigerians to always portray the country in good light to the international communities as he expressed optimism of a better and great Nigeria.
