The name of Jesus is a very powerful name among other names. Everywhere in the world, people are calling the same name Jesus be it in America, Asia, Europe and Africa. Jesus is the only name given among men through which people can be saved. When Jesus had completed the sacrifice of redemption, God gave him a new name “Lord.” Lord means absolute owner (Psalm 24:1). Jesus came as Saviour but He is exalted as Lord. The reason for His coronation as Lord is seen in Philippians 2:8, “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” The Father set His seal of approval upon the Son’s self-sacrifice by exalting Him and conferring upon Him the superlative name that is above every name.
Jesus is exalted because He died and rose again. If Christ did not rise from the dead, our faith would have been futile, void, unfounded and empty. The Bible said in 1 Corinthians 15:14, “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” Jesus prophesied about His death and resurrection before the two events actually happened as He said itHH in Luke 9:22, “The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised on the third day.” From the time of old till now many people have tried to replicate the resurrection of Jesus Christ but it didn’t end well. The man called De Lawrence, died mysteriously while trying to become the new Jesus, according to him, he said that there is no big deal as per the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. After his death, his followers began to tell people as per what he told them that he will die and resurrect after three days like Jesus Christ. Surprisingly, he died and rose up on the third day but on his way to come out of his grave, there arose a mighty thunder from Heaven and struck him to death.
There is no other name that can match the name of Jesus. Since the creation of the entire world, there have been names that ranged bell and faced off because their existence on earth was temporal. •Today’s Nugget: Only the name of Jesus Saves. These names included those who initiated and fought great wars like Adolf Hitler, great world leaders like Nelson Mandela, great philosophers of their own time like Socrates and Plato, great scientists who invented great things like Thomas Edison who invented electric bulb, founders of religious movements, great educationist and great cultists. But the name of Jesus is eternal because He lives forever and the entire universe is still celebrating the name of Jesus till date (Hebrews 7:24-26).
Salvation is not found in any other name except in the name of Jesus. If you are looking for salvation, you only need to embrace the name Jesus. Someone said that he belonged to two churches and he was asked why he belonged to two churches? He said if one church did not lead him to Heaven, the other church will lead him to Heaven but he was making a mistake because no church can lead you to Heaven. Most assuredly, there is only one name that saves eternally. That name is the Lord Jesus Christ. I urge anyone desiring forgiveness of sin and eternal salvation to come to Jesus.
