Nigerian radio and on-air personality (OAP) Toke Makinwa unveiled her new fragrance collection under the Toke Makinwa Beauty brand.
The perfume collection features three distinct fragrances: Dive, Rouge, and Intense. Each scent represents the love Toke Makinwa has for perfumes and her understanding of the role they play in our daily lives.
In addition, the event was graced with the attendance of big names in the industry including Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Mercy Aigbe, Waje, Stephanie Coker, as well as BBNaija Tacha and CeeC, among many more notable names.

The birth of ‘Toke Makinwa Beauty’
Toke Makinwa shared that the creation of her perfume line stemmed from her passion for perfumes. Interestingly, she revealed that she has been working on the perfumes for three (3) years.
Furthermore, when asked about what inspired the pricing of her perfumes to make them affordable to her audience in the crippling Nigerian economy, Toke Makinwa replied, “I believe that regardless of what the economy looks like, people always spend money on how they look and how they feel, because that’s literally what they need at the end of the day.”
“Smelling great is good manners. So I think we’re right in the middle of, you know, getting people to be more confident, to feel great about renaissance in terms of affordability. Well, it is a premium luxury line. We try to make it affordable,” she said.
Also, Toke Makinwa answered the question of whether people should expect a perfume store from her. She said, “You’re gonna have to wait to find out, but we’re definitely rolling out a couple of cents. This is the first, but this is not the last. And I really do hope that, you know, we take this from Nigeria to the rest of the world.
“I’m hoping and praying that in all white spaces, black brands begin to gain recognition and the respect that it deserves. So now that I think that economically we might be okay, let’s see what the checks and balances are. We might open the store.”
