Trust Teens Community changing the narrating for teenagers in Africa

The June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta was abuzz with energy and inspiration on April 26th as over 2000 attendees gathered for the transformative Trust Teens Conference 2024. This landmark event united teenagers, parents, teachers, and special guests in a celebration of empowerment, education, and community.

Founded and led by Deborah Dada, the Trust Teens Community aims to provide a supportive environment where teenagers can access mentorship, grow alongside the right peers, and eventually recycle the process with other teenagers. The conference opened with powerful keynote addresses that set the tone for the day. Deborah delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of family values and respect, urging attendees to uphold these essential principles. 



Enioluwa Adeoluwa a media personality captivated the audience with his personal journey of overcoming academic challenges graduating with a first class as a teenager, reinforcing the motivational mantra “I can, I will, and I must,” which resonated deeply with the teenagers present.

The Trust Teens Conference 2024 was more than just an event; it was a movement aimed at transforming the lives of African teenagers. By fostering a sense of community and providing tools for personal growth, the conference left a lasting impact on all who attended. As the day concluded, it was clear that the Trust Teens Community is indeed changing the narrative for teenagers in Africa, paving the way for a brighter, more empowered future.

Looking ahead, the Trust Teens Community plans to host smaller hangouts to further emphasize the importance of community and ongoing support. These intimate gatherings will provide teenagers with regular opportunities to connect, share experiences, and receive mentorship in a more personal setting. 

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4: Quality Education, 3: Good Health and Well-being, and 10: Reduced Inequalities. the community aims to strengthen bonds among its members, encourage continuous personal growth, and ensure that the positive impact of the Trust Teens Conference extends throughout the year. This initiative underscores the community’s commitment to nurturing a supportive environment where teenagers can thrive and inspire one another.
