Uzodimma preaches peace, love, harmony during Lent, Valentine’s day commemoration

As Christians mark commencement of the Lenten season, the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has urged them to imbibe peace, love and unity.

The governor stated this in a statement he issued yesterday. He said the period would herald Easter, noting that it is a season of spiritual renewal and growth.

Also, the governor urged Imo people to celebrate Valentine’s day with the reflection of what St. Valentine stood for, urging that deep rooted love for one another be the guiding essence.

The statement reads: “As we begin the Lenten period, a time for spiritual renewal and growth, with the solemn observance of Ash Wednesday, let us strive in promoting harmony and peace in our society by embodying the virtues of love, compassion and forgiveness.”

“During this season, I urge each and every one of us to engage in sincere reflection to mend broken relationships and to strive for personal growth. Let us use this time to strengthen our bonds with our fellow citizens and to foster a culture of understanding and respect.

“May we be guided by the wisdom and grace of the Almighty. Let us pray for His guidance and blessings, as we seek to better ourselves and our communities during this sacred time.”

On the Valentine’s Day celebration, Uzodimma said: “As we commemorate the feast of St. Valentine, I send heartfelt wishes of love to envelop every corner of our state. Let us allow love to be our guiding light in all our interactions, fostering harmony and unity among us.”
