In a recent social media post, Nigerian star Wizkid found himself at the center of a heated exchange.

It all began when an anonymous user boldly claimed that Ayra Starr and Tems were superior to Wizkid. The user’s provocative statement caught the attention of Wizkid’s fans, “Wizkid FC”, the artiste himself.

The X user wrote, “So Ayra Starr and Tems are better than you. I’m glad you used your mouth to say Odumodu is not lying.”

Wizkid wasted no time in firing back.

He replied, “I see u weren’t raised by a good woman and love at home. Ayra Star and Tems are amazing.”

Capping it off with his signature eagle and heart emojis. His reply not only defended his stature but also praised the two rising female artistes.

The backstory to this exchange lies in Odumodublvck’s recent interview.

The singer asserted that Ayra Starr and Tems had achieved something monumental – surpassing the accomplishments of Wizkid, Burna Boy, and even the legendary Fela Kuti.

He said, “What Tems and Ayra Starr have done is bigger than anything Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Fela have done. Because as female artistes, most producers and show promoters want to sleep with them. They dodged those things and still made good music”

According to Odumodublvck, female artistes face immense pressure in the industry, with producers and show promoters often seeking sexual favours from them.

Additionally, Wizkid has been hinting at the release of his next studio album, Morayo.

He will release the album anytime soon. Furthermore, the album holds deep personal meaning for the singer. It serves as a tribute to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.

Interestingly, Wizkid has distanced himself from the Afrobeat genre. Months ago, he declared that he is no longer an Afrobeat artiste.

He also urged fans who prefer his older tracks to steer clear of listening to the new album when it drops.
